This is the first time I attempted to review a car (though without commenting). I was lucky to get the opportunity to take out the brand new (not yet released) 2013 Rolls Royce Phantom II to take out the car for a bit and took the opportunity to show you this beautiful engineered automobile. This one is the 2nd generation of the Rolls Royce Phantom and just arrived to Dubai. Shipment will start later this year (2012) and I am sure we will see many of them on Dubai roads within the next months.
Some facts for you:
lenght: 5842mm
width: 1990mm
height: 1638mm
fuel tank capacity: 100 litres
weight: 2635kg
Engine
6.8 Ltr. V12 with 460 bhp and 720 Nm of torque
Performance
Topspeed 150 mph/ 240 km/h (limited)
0 - 100 km/h in 5.9 sec.
Fuel consumption
no need to talk about it if you can afford a car like this ;-)
Personal notes from me:
I have already driven the previous generation Phantom (both as 4 door limousine and as Drophead Coupe) and same as the new one these cars are beautiful pieces of automotive art. As you have seen in the video towards the end, the car is extremely quiet when driving, no noise is entering the car, neither from the engine nor from the wind! It is like you are in a Spa having a treatment.
About the driving, very smooth, always sufficient power and torque from the bottom, easy to handle but very long and wide. You have to be very careful when you drive the car, the dimensions are extreme compared to the average daily car you might be used to! Especially in garages and in traffic you should stay clear from everyone around you, though it makes it a bit easier as people try to avoid getting close to a Rolls Royce thinking about the potential damages they might cause to it! ;-)
Ok, I might have done kind of a wrong review about it (sorry for not speaking, but that was kind of intended) as these cars are usually not self-driven. But due to the lack of a driver and me enjoying to drive cars myself it became a self-drivers car review.
What else can I say about the car, it is very very very well build, the materials chosen for it, the leather, wood and the stitching is done 100% into every little corner of the car! Whatever you open, turn, switch on or off, all works perfectly and it's a joy to use it. The seats are very comfortable and you won't get tired sitting on them, very good for long drives.
Other than that, I can't say anything bad about the car, well, maybe for the average consumer the price might be a bit more than what you might consider spending on a car. Starting at Euro 342,120.00 upwards it's either this or a house.
You have to decide what you gonna go for...
Thanks for watching, click like, share the video with your friends, leave a comment and subscribe if you haven't done that already!
I will be posting pictures a bit later, but for now please enjoy the video.
Thanks.
